With Scott Taranto as president and Mark Pollock as general manager, New Orleans Millworks manufactures and repairs historically correct custom shutters, doors, windows, moldings, spindles, handrails, columns and miscellaneous wood turnings. The mission, says Pollock, is “to provide historically correct millwork to suit clients’ design needs with an expertly crafted product, delivered in a timely fashion and with priority customer service.” The company appeals to clients building and renovating homes. “We welcome any homeowner with a small- or large-size project, as well as contractors, designers and architects,” says Pollock.
Where do you get your items?
Local Louisiana wood suppliers and recycled woods from old New Orleans buildings.
Do you make house calls or set up appointments?
Yes, we do. We make daily appointments and walk our clients through the process from the beginning design aspects to the end installation of products by our staff.
How has your business evolved or changed over the years?
We started off as a small shutter company. Over the years we have challenged our sales staff, craftsmen and operations team to grow and develop into a full-service mill shop.
Do you have any specials or sales this month?
We are currently running a 10 percent off coupon for our customers who bring in the ad from this magazine. We hope that our clients will take advantage of this for the upcoming shutter season.
We believe historic wood shutters are not only the best- looking but also the best to protect your home during hurricane season.
