rise and dine

This spring and summer, there are so many good reasons to get out of bed and start celebrating.

Eggs, bacon, Hollandaise sauce, cheese grits: I love breakfast food … just not enough to get up early to eat it. That’s why I am a huge fan of brunch, a perfect meal at a perfect time.

The only thing that could possibly make brunch better is the spicy eye-opening kick of a Bloody Mary or the sweet bubbly wake-up call of a mimosa. Fortunately, this is New Orleans, where a drink is never an unreasonable request, no matter the hour of the day.

Brunch is delightful even in the dead of winter, but the possibility of dining al fresco makes it positively blissful in
the warmer months.

The spring and summer also feature two of New Orleans’ premier food and drink festivals: New Orleans Wine & Food Experience from May 25 to 29 and Tales of the Cocktail from July 21 to 25 –– and there’s no denying that plenty of food and drink are enjoyed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, as well.

From the gentle days of early spring to the brutal end of summer, get outside in the sunshine and drink to the fact that there can be no doubt that we live in the best city on earth.
