Rivertown Theaters To Showcase Some of the City’s Best Musical Performers Live In Their “Intermission Cabaret” Telethon on Give Nola Day June 2

KENNER, La (press release) – Rivertown Theaters hopes to raise some much-need funds as well as to give something back to the community by offering a great line-up of entertainment Live during Give Nola Day June 2 during the early evening.

“Our theaters are known for providing great musical productions hiring the exceptional local talent we have in the metropolitan area.  While we are unable to mount a full production at this time, we want to continue entertaining audiences by offering performances by actors  who have been in our productions as well as give an opportunity to NOLA theatre community newcomers to show their talents,” said Kelly Fouchi, Artistic/Managing Director.  “We know there are so many charities who are going through financial hardship as we are, but we’re hoping that this will be an extra incentive for our patrons, subscribers, individual ticket holders and the viewers to make a donation no matter the amount,” she added.

Rivertown Theaters’ Mission:

The Rivertown Theaters are used to present theatrical productions to the Kenner community as well as the Greater New Orleans area. These buildings require a large amount of theatrical equipment and ongoing maintenance and renovations to continue to be operational. Although both Theatre 13 and the City of Kenner, the owner of the theaters and property,  continue to invest in the buildings, there is an ever-growing list of necessary renovations, maintenance and equipment that are required to properly produce theatrical productions year-round.

The 501(c)3 non-profit organization ‘Friends of the Rivertown Theaters’ was formed with the purpose of raising funds to purchase necessary theatrical equipment, maintain that equipment, pay for building renovations necessary to keep the buildings operational, beautification of the property, raising community awareness of the existence of the theaters and Kenner’s Rivertown district, and offering opportunities to participate in theatrical productions.

Funds raised by Friends of the Rivertown Theaters will be used for maintenance and renovations of the city-owned public buildings and lessening the burdens of government by purchasing / maintaining theatrical equipment. Funds will also be used to present children’s theatrical productions, and to offer scholarship opportunities for children in the community to participate in theater summer camps.

“The Show Will Go On!” – Season subscriptions and individual tickets are still available for people wanting to show their support for Rivertown Theaters.  For information and to purchase tickets, go to www.RivertownTheaters.com or e-mail the theater at BoxOffice@RivertownTheaters.com.  Or call 504-461-9475.
