We often post about trends, from popular colors of the year and translucent reception furniture to elaborate ceremony flower displays and everything in between.
We are all for a couple incorporating originality into their wedding – it’s their Big Day, it’s supposed to be that way. Some couples opt to express individuality by getting married in unconventional places.
The most recent story is the couple who said “I Do” in the middle of their local Whole Foods. Fans of Whole Foods, or even stores like Trader Joes, can be passionate people, but to exchange vows in the middle of the cereal aisle doesn’t strike us as the most romantic location.
Other offbeat locales include a Taco Bell, a cemetery and other retail stores.
New Orleans in and of itself can be an unconventional place to get married. No building or location is without its history and background story. You can even get married in the middle of a concert at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
But it would be unusual to get married, say, in the local Popeyes. Delicious? Yes. Romantic? Not exactly. We did, however, hear of a wedding performed in Peaches Records on Magazine Street in 2017. It was small, quick and very retro.
What do you think about this rising trend? Have you gotten married in an unusual location? Let us know in the comments.
