NEW ORLEANS (press release) – On Friday, Sept. 8, local families can head over to Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana (RMHC-SLA) at 210 State St. for a free Family Movie Night from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Guests will have the option of viewing two different films, “The Little Mermaid” (2023) and “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” (2023). In addition to the movies, there will be movie-themed trivia beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the feature films starting promptly at 7 p.m. Guests can make it a dinner and a movie kind of night with complimentary pizza provided by Reginelli’s. Complimentary concessions, generously donated by the Kiwanis Club of New Orleans, will also be available onsite.
“Our beautiful, spacious new location offers our community a place to come together and celebrate the beginning of the school year in a safe family-friendly space,” said Grace McIntosh, executive director of RMHC-SLA. “We’re thrilled that we can now offer New Orleans’ friends and families space to gather and enjoy fellowship together in this way.”
This event is free and open to the public, please RSVP HERE to guarantee a seat.
Eventgoers are encouraged to wear their best mermaid and web-slinger attire, as prizes will be awarded to the best dressed.
Since RMHC-SLA’s founding in December 1983, they have served more than 20,000 families from Greater New Orleans and across the country. With the help of the local community, they help ease the financial and emotional burdens families face as they access critical care for their children. They are that home-away-from-home, offering free accommodations, volunteer-provided meals, transportation when needed, a food pantry and a support system like no other.
