Royal Watch

In case you live in a secluded area with no access to TV or the internet, in just four days, actress Meghan Markle will marry Prince Harry in an intimate, 800-guest wedding at Windsor Castle on May 19.

Though our “Let Them Eat Cake” loyalties lie with a certain infamous French royal dynasty, we do still think of ourselves as anglophiles, especially given that we are of course Americans and our country was once a colony of Great Britain. Given that storied history and our love of nuptials, we can’t wait to see the entire royal wedding unfold.

Lucky, for anyone looking to make a moment of the wedding, there are many bars and restaurants around the city hosting watch parties in addition to the Windsor Court Hotel’s events we reported on last week.

Here’s a list of the locations we know of – let us know in the comments where you’ll be watching and maybe we’ll see you there.

Crown and Anchor

This Algiers Point establishment is an authentic English Pub and is co-owned by Neill Timms who, Nola.com reports, is from Coventry, England.

The pub will record the wedding revelries and show it for guests from 2 to 5 p.m. Timms told Nola.com they will be serve finger sandwiches, cakes, traditional scones and champagne cocktail specials. Food and watch party is free, the bar will charge for drinks.

Location: 200 Pelican Ave., Algiers.

Avenue Pub

Avenue Pub is open 24 hours, so guests can decide when they’d like to come and join in on the fun. According to the bar’s Facebook event, it will be feature English-style brews, including Bluebird Bitter, and champagne for mimosas and wedding toasts. It also says the party inspiration includes corgi onesies, fascinators, royal couple masks and British Flags.

Location: 1732 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans

AMC Elmwood

Viewers will be able to catch the royal wedding on the big screen. BritBox – the biggest streaming collection of Britis TV in the United States – and Fathom Events will show the royal wedding, commercial free, in select theaters across the country. The AMC Elmwood – as well as the Cinemark Perkins Rowe, for our Baton Rouge readers – will host a watch party at 10 a.m. for $10.98.

Location: 1200 Elmwood Park Boulevard, Elmwood

If you chose to enjoy the wedding from the comfort of your own home, CBS, ABC, NBC, BBC America, E!, PBS, TLC and Fox will all broadcast live, including pre-show coverage. Many online entities will be hosting a live stream of the events – some of the sites are VanityFair.com, NYTimes.com, CBSnews.com and ABCNews.com.

And finally, if you enjoyed their performance at the Rose Parade, Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon will be back together as their characters Cord and Tish covering events for HBO. The broadcast will not begin until 7:30 a.m.
