Ruby Slipper Announces Carnival-Themed Specials

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – This time of year, brunch fans become Mardi Gras fans when Ruby Slipper introduces its seasonal menu of special food and drink favorites only available during Mardi Gras season. It’s a time of fun, indulgence and getting together with friends to “let the good times roll” at Ruby Slipper for a boozy and delicious New Orleans-style brunch.

“Many people love Mardi Gras season for its vibrant celebrations and the sense of community that comes together for the grandest party on Earth,” said Ruby Slipper Culinary Operations Partner Marla Chua. “Every year, we bring our guests creative menu items with Cajun and Creole inspiration, sweet treats and festive flavors to encompass the entire Mardi Gras culinary experience.”

Now available until mid-February, all Ruby Slipper and Sunshine locations will feature these Mardi Gras-themed specials, guaranteed to satisfy every guest’s brunch cravings: 

Carnival Food Specials: 

Mardi Gras Beignets ($7.25): New Orleans-style beignets with cinnamon-orange cheesecake with Crofter’s organic strawberry preserves. Topped with whipped cream & Mardi Gras sugar crystals.

King Cake Stuffed French Toast ($12.50): Brioche French toast stuffed with cinnamon-orange cheesecake with Crofter’s organic strawberry preserves. Topped with cream cheese icing, Mardi Gras sugar crystals, and whipped cream. 

Cajun Catfish Coubion ($19.50): Fried USA-raised catfish and poached eggs served over corn maque choux and golden tater hash cakes, finished with Creole tomato sauce.  

Queen Cake Pancakes ($12) *add Applewood-smoked bacon for $2*: Sweet cream pancakes filled with cinnamon and sugar layered with almond créme, finished with whipped cream, almond brittle, and Mardi Gras sugar crystals. (side cake for $4.50)

Carnival Drink Specials: 

Mambo 75 ($11.50): Miles Gin, lavender syrup, fresh lime, sparkling wine, lemon twist.

Blueberry Margarita ($11.50): Pueblo Viejo 100% blanco tequila, triple sec, macerated blueberries, blueberry juice, house sour mix with Mardi Gras salt rim and lime.
