NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group’s unique take on brunch with sweet pastries and savory Cajun-inspired faire is stepping in style to the city of Metairie.
Located at 4236 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near the Clearview City Center, the new location is perfect for grabbing a seasonal breakfast beignet or spicy bloody mary on the way to work or an afternoon of shopping. The new location marks the brand’s second in the area, ninth in the state, and 23rd nationwide.
Opening-day, on Oct. 16, will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Metairie Chamber of Commerce and check presentations to local not-for-profit organizations The Second Harvest Food Bank and The Roots of Music. The latter is an organization dedicated to bringing music education, academic support and mentorship to the youth of New Orleans and surrounding areas. Students from The Roots of Music will also be performing some New Orleans-style jazz throughout the festivities.
“One thing we love even more than ‘that brunch life’ is lifting up our community through food and culture,” said Ruby Slipper CEO Elizabeth McGee. “We invite everyone to come out and support these two worthy organizations that do so much good for the people of Louisiana while enjoying a Bacon Bloody Mary and some amazing Bananas Foster French Toast.”
Representatives from the Second Harvest Food Bank agree.
“Through our opportunity to partner with Ruby Slipper, we continue to elevate our efforts to fight food insecurity,” said Community Relations Manager Kathryn Gsell. “This partnership will directly impact our ability to fulfill our mission for our neighbors across southeast Louisiana.”
Guests can visit the Metairie Ruby Slipper on weekdays from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. and weekends until 3 p.m.
Ruby Slipper is still hiring for front- and back-of-house positions at the Metairie location. Candidates interested in learning about career opportunities with competitive wages and other valuable benefits are invited to visit Ruby Slipper’s career page here.
