Satsuma Real Estate Presents Annual Fundraiser“Building by Boiling” to Benefit People’s Housing+

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Satsuma Real Estate is proud to announce its annual fundraiser “Building by Boiling”. This crawfish cook-off will benefit People’s Housing+, a New Orleans-based 501(c)3 non-profit that is committed to providing pathways to homeownership for low-and-moderate income New Orleanians. The crawfish cook-off will be held at NOLA Brewing on Saturday, May 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The first batch of crawfish comes out at 11:00 a.m. and Da Truth Brass Band will perform from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., with Sweet Crude following from 2-3:30 p.m. There will also be a raffle, silent auction and a live auction.

Teams will be competing for three different titles: judges’ favorite (with a double-blind judging panel), biggest fundraiser, and Belle of the Boil (fan favorite). Celebrity judges include Garrett Hartley, New Orleans Saints legend, Caitlin Carney, owner of Seafood Sally’s and Marjie’s Grill, Malik Mingo, WWLTV presenter and host of Great Day Louisiana, and local content creators Brian Maurice (@EatingNOLA) and Brittany Nicholas (@whatspoppinnola).

The event’s goal is to raise $30,000 to support PH+.

“We want everyone to be able to afford their own home in New Orleans, so it’s a natural fit for Satsuma Real Estate to partner with an organization like People’s Housing +, which is dedicated to making homeownership attainable and achievable,” says Satsuma Real Estate Partner Josh Fogarty. “Their mission to provide stable, secure, and safe housing for low-moderate income New Orleanians is critical for helping to solve the current affordable housing crisis. We’re proud to partner with them as they continue creating pathways to homeownership, preventing displacement, and building generational wealth while narrowing the racial wealth gap.”

Tickets are available for purchase online for $50 and also day-of at the door for $65. Each ticket will include two complimentary beers or soft drinks, in addition to all the crawfish you can peel. The venue holds just 500 people, so we encourage folks to purchase your tickets now!
