NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Chef Scot Craig, known through New Orleans for his bustling neighborhood restaurants (Katie’s in Mid City at 3701 Iberville St. and Francesca at 515 Harrison Ave.) has taken the helm of Bienvenue, On Hickory, in Harahan, redeveloping the menu and setting a new course for this local Harahan favorite, including the long awaited addition of brunch.
While the physical changes to Bienvenue will come over time, Chef Craig has already taken leadership of the restaurant, making his mark on the menu with incremental changes, some of which are available now. Serving contemporary Creole cuisine along with a seasonal variety of fresh southern favorites, Bienvenue offers both indoor and outdoor seating.
Craig is also adding to the already growing staff. Chef Nick Locicero, son of famed New Orleans Chef Duke Locicero, has joined the team at Bienvenue putting his creative ideas to work at the new hot spot.
Talking to owners Patrick Gros and Kevin Marrone, Gros said, “We’ve really been looking to take Bienvenue to the next level and we felt that Scot was the partner who could do that for us. Our goal is to make it the best neighborhood spot in town. If anyone can make us the destination in Harahan for the best food, it’s him,” they both agreed.
Bienvenue will add Sunday brunch to the menu starting August 18th at 9 a.m. (limited menu) and to include a bottomless Mimosa, Sangria and Bloody Mary bar.
Bienvenue has also launched a new VIP club where customers get a free app just for signing up, free birthday dinners and more. You can sign-up in advance at www.bienvenueharahan.com/vip.
