NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Scout Island Scream Park presented by New Orleans City Park and The Mortuary is an immersive Halloween festival experience on Scout Island in City Park. The 2018 inaugural event brought in more than 50,000 people. Attendees enjoy music, food, entertainment, carnival rides, a Kid Zone, and horror haunts filled with thrills, and chills.
Knowing every age will enjoy Scout Island Scream Park, including those maybe too young for the horror haunts, a daytime festival has been added this year.
DAYTIME: Bring the whole family to celebrate at The Kid Zone for Halloween themed festive fun. Guests can board an old fashioned tractor-pulled wagons for an adventure through the wooded swamp perimeter. Kids will love a large bounce house, kid-sized carnival rides, and kid focused magical entertainment featuringThe Boogie Spookatular, a cartoon based animated musical adventure. Plus enjoy live music on special event days. These activities will also be open during the night time hours.
NIGHT TIME: And as night falls, Scout Island Scream Park evolves into a dark carnival of unusual monsters, amazing illusions, stunning special FX, unique and original costumes, makeup, animations and frightening detail created by the artists of The Mortuary Haunted Mansion. Only the courageous will survive the intense encounters with these infamous creatures of the night. Plus enjoy live music on special event nights.

-The Kraken Pirate Pub and Music Hall: food, spirits, and music
-Fright Zones: Areas where creatures lurk around every turn, Fright Zones are outdoor haunted houses set up in open areas with themed actors

-Pharaoh’s Fury haunted house: On September 15, 1977, the City Park hosted his royal majesty of Ancient Egypt, King Tutankhamen. Almost a million people had glimpsed his treasures defying the ancient warnings. The curse of the pharaoh is cast upon any person who disturbs the mummy of any pharaoh of ancient Egypt. Over forty years later, the curse of the pharaoh has descended upon City Park’s Scout Island to seek revenge. The ancient Egyptian Temple of Anubis, the God of Death, has risen from the swampy depths of City Park’s lagoons to extract justice for disturbing Tut’s tomb. Explore the lost temple while avoiding traps and snares… Come Face-to-face with snakes, crocodiles, and the-living-dead…Defy the curse of the pharaoh if you dare.
– Stitch’s Body Emporium: This doctor is not a servant of the people. He is a Picasso of blood. Known as Stitch, this dog-faced mad-man fancies himself an artist with a never-ending thirst for blood. His greed of perfection drives him to remake flesh.
