In the Autumn 2004 issue on page 64, there is an error about the barred owl. The article is about barred owls; it says that near Monroe they have been heard emitting a long, drawn-out scream. This is not from a barred owl but from a screech owl. Screech owls make an awful sound like a scream. The barred owl does make a sound that sounds like “Who cooks for me?,” as the writer reported.
I love this magazine and especially this issue since you had more articles concerning north Louisiana.
