“SCRIM: A New Orleans Story of Resilience and Rescue” Book Signing Next Week

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Garden District Book Shop announced that author Kaye Courington will be at the shop on May 20 to celebrate the release of her new book “SCRIM: A New Orleans Story of Resilience and Rescue.” 

“SCRIM: A New Orleans Story of Resilience and Rescue” chronicles the heartwarming and epic story of Scrim the dog featured in The Times-Picayune, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Daily Mail, ABC, CBS & NBC News.

This illustrated book is the story of a terrier-mix rescue who overcame trauma and hardships and kept going despite it is for animal lovers who empathize with the obstacles all rescues face and endure. 

The shop says it’s more than just a book, that “SCRIM” is a testament to resilience and the lifesaving power of pet rescue. Courington shared she is donating 100% of her royalties to local rescues to support animals in need.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. Courington will be joined by Michelle from Zeus’ Rescues, Monica from Trap Dat Cat, Jeff Dorson from Humane Society of Louisiana and moderator Meg Farris, all volunteers involved in the rescue efforts who will make up a panel where they will reflect on nearly a year of chasing Scrim. The event is free and open to the public but books can be reserved ahead of time on Eventbrite.
