BATON ROUGE, La (press release) – A slate of nine companies has been selected as semi-finalists for the BREW 10 High-stakes Pitch Competition, which is offering a $50,000 investment prize to one winning company at a live pitch event on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021. These nine companies were selected from an initial pool of 56 total applicants. The semi-finalist companies are Unlock’d, Omnidek, LLENA(AI), Neuro Rescue, Check, Relief Telemed, Mintor, inQ, and PeduL.
For the semi-final round, each of the nine companies will make pitch presentations before a panel of judges comprised of accredited investors in a closed door session on Jan. 7. These judges will select the three finalists for the live pitch event to take place on Jan. 21. The closed-door pitch will be comprised of a 10-minute pitch and a 20-minute question and answer session. All three selected finalists will receive mentorship and coaching ahead of the live pitch event.
“In the wake of COVID-19 and the subsequent changes we’ve made to BREW this year, we weren’t sure how many applicants we could expect, but we ended up with more total applicants than we did last year,” said Wendy Overton, Director of Strategy & Development for Nexus Louisiana. “That, once again, shows the resiliency and determination of our region’s entrepreneurs, and their constant desire to grow their businesses despite the challenges we all face.”
Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week is proudly produced by Nexus Louisiana and is sponsored by Lucid, High Fidelity, Resilia, Baton Rouge Business Report, 225 Magazine, Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, LSU Stephenson Department of Entrepreneurship & Information Systems, Theatre Baton Rouge, and Venyu.
