September Culinary Happenings Around The City

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – A few restaurants around the city prepare for September with culinary happenings. 

 

COMPÈRE LAPIN INTRODUCES ISLAND HOP THEMED DINNER SERIES
Compère Lapin
is inviting diners to embark on a culinary tour through the Caribbean with a series of rotating menus, each week showcasing the unique cuisine from a different Caribbean destination. The weekly dinners, priced at only $45 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), will include four courses, with an optional $25 cocktail pairing featuring Caribbean rums. For the premiere dinner, Compton will serve up a Cuban inspired feast. The Cuban themed dinner menu will be available during dinner only Sunday, Sept. 1 through Saturday, Sept. 7. Additional islands showcased will include Haiti, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Martinique.

 

THE PARLOR TO HOST POPPY’S POP-UP DRAG BRUNCH IN CELEBRATION OF HER NEW COOKBOOK
Drag performers will take center stage during a lively brunch soiree at The Parlor, located inside the Pontchartrain Hotel, on Sunday, September 8, 2019from 11AM-2PM. Native New Orleanian, TV personality and culinary activist Poppy Tooker, along with CrescentCareNO/AIDS Task Force, will host Poppy’s Pop-Up Drag Brunch to celebrate the launch of Tooker’s newest book DRAG QUEEN BRUNCH. Priced at $85 per person (including tax and gratuity), the three-course brunch will include delectable dishes and bubbly cocktail pairings from Jack Rose. Tickets can be purchased here.

The Saints are coming back with a vengeance, kicking off the regular season on Monday, September 9, 2019.
