Shake Shack Expands to Metairie with first Louisiana Location

METAIRIE, La (press release) – Look out Louisiana! Shake Shack is thrilled to announce it will be opening its first Louisiana shack in the Greater New Orleans Area, on Friday, July 19th at 11 a.m. The Shack will be located in Metairie at 3501 Veterans Memorial Blvd. , just off North Causeway Boulevard on the corner of Severn Avenue. This opening is the first step in a larger expansion in Louisiana with two additional locations opening this year in Canal Place, Downtown New Orleans’ premier shopping destination, and the Louis Armstrong Airport.

Shake Shack is a critically acclaimed, modern day “roadside” burger stand known for its 100 precent all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and griddled flat-top dogs (no hormones or antibiotics – ever), fresh-made frozen custard, crispy crinkle cut fries and more. A fun and lively community gathering place with widespread appeal, Shake Shack has earned a cult-like following around the world.

In addition to the classics, the Metairie Shack will be spinning up a unique selection of frozen custard concretes in partnership with local purveyor Haydel’s Bakery :

● Metairie Mixer – Vanilla custard, fudge sauce, Haydel’s Bakery praline, chocolate toffee
● Shack Attack – Chocolate custard, fudge sauce, Haydel’s Bakery chocolate brownie, Mast Brothers dark chocolate chunks and chocolate sprinkles
● Pie Oh My – Vanilla custard blended with piece of Haydel’s Bakery seasonal pie

Guests can wash their burgers down with local brews from Abita Brewery, Nola Brewing Company, Dixie Beer and Second Line Brewing plus Shake Shack’s exclusive Brooklyn Brewery ShackMeister Ale. Wine lovers can enjoy a glass of Shack RedTM and Shack WhiteTM wine from the Gotham Project.

As part of Shake Shack’s mission to Stand For Something Good, The Metairie Shack will donate five percent of sales from the Pie Oh My concrete throughout the life of the shack to Louisiana SPCA, a nonprofit animal shelter dedicated to promoting, protecting and advancing the well-being of Louisiana’s companion animals.

The 3,755 square-foot Shack will feature a patio with ample seating for guests and a custom mural by Monica Kelly. In keeping with Shake Shack’s commitment to green architecture and eco-friendly construction , the Metairie Shack’s tabletops will be made by CounterEvolution using reclaimed bowling alley lanes; chairs will be designed by Uhuru using sustainable materials; and booths will be crafted by Staach using lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Snag some swag! The first 100 people in line when doors open at 11 a.m. will receive Shake Shack swag and a custom Dirty Coast t-shirt – on us!
