Simone Reggie opened Simone’s Market on Oak Street on Dec. 23, 2016. In the late 1800s, Oak Street was the “Main Street” for the busy Carrollton neighborhood. The popular street offered patrons everything from shoe repair and barber shops to apparel stores and markets. Today, Oak Street is alive and well and Simone’s Market is one reason why locals continue to enjoy this historic street. Reggie’s neighborhood food store focuses on local produce, but also offers its customers sit down dining. Weekday menus feature traditional sandwiches, salads, chicken pot pies, and other favorites. On Sundays from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in a nod to her heritage, Reggie offers a Lebanese Dinner inspired by her grandmother’s traditional recipes.
