On Jan. 30, WalletHub announced the its list for the 2019 best places to get married. Making the top 20 at No. 19 of the personal finance website’s breakdown was New Orleans, right behind Cincinnati, Ohio and in front of Dallas, Texas. The announcement stated that to help couple’s find the most wedding-friendly destination, the site compared 180 of the biggest cities in the country across 27 of what they call key indicators – cost-effectiveness, convenience and enjoyment.
New Orleans was listed overall at No. 19; however, landed 59 out of 180 for cost, 39 for facilities and services and 16 for activities and attractions. Though each of those rankings placed New Orleans in the top 100, those who collected the data for this survey have obviously never visited the Big Easy, as not ranking us in the top 10 for enjoyment was a mistake, in our opinion. (Melanie here: Having been born and raised in the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area, I can say without a doubt that New Orleans is way more enjoyable than Cincinnati. I have nothing but love for Cincy, and it’s way cooler than when I was growing up, but New Orleans is hands down the most enjoyable place on Earth.)
Other Louisiana cities to make the list were Baton Rouge and Shreveport, who ranked 46 and 74 respectively.
