Who doesn’t love a great cocktail? We certainly do! If you are in the mood to hop around town and enjoy what several venues are doing to help quench our thirst, we’ve got you covered.
We have visited several bars and restaurants that offer special deals, cocktail creations, and tastings just for us. So, have fun while sipping something special.
Bacchanal Wine (600 Poland Ave.) – Step into a world of rosé this Saturday, May 11 from 2:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. as Bacchanal hosts its 10th annual Rosé Fest – which they say is the original and longest running festival dedicated to the pink drink. They will feature 50+ rosés from 12 different vendors. You’ll need a wristband, which will cost you $15 and gives you access to several varieties of rosé offered both upstairs and in the courtyard. The tasting starts at 2 p.m if you have a pre-sale wristband and 2:30 p.m. for wristband bought at the door. We suggest you go early to beat the crowds, avoid waiting in line and once you’re in you’ll taste all the rosé your heart desires.
The Rum House (3128 Magazine St.) – The Rum House, along with many others, is taking part in the Magazine Street Champagne Stroll on Saturday, May 11 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. If it’s bubbly you love, this will be a great stop for you and your friends. The ‘Stroll’ is one of the city’s premier springtime sip & shop events held on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. It’s fun, free and draws huge crowds. The Rum House will offer $5 off pitchers of house margaritas, sangria and beer and $5 off all bottles of wine. So, go sip and stroll on Saturday. This is a great time to grab your friends and enjoy the uptown fun.
Martin Wine Cellar (3827 Baronne St.) is hosting the 3rd Annual Vino Italians Festival on Saturday, May 18 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and you will be able to sample more than 20 of their favorite Italian wines along with meats, cheeses and lite bites. If it’s wine you have a taste for, this is a nice way to spend 90-minutes tasting some great selections that are from the Italian region. Sip up and smile while having a blast.
Flamingo A-Go-Go (869 Magazine St.) – Flamingo A-Go-Go is hosting “Bachelorette Monday’s.” Every Monday starting May 13, the venue will host a viewing party for ABC’s “The Bachelorette” in the courtyard. This is great for female friends to flock together for Monday night wine specials (starting at 4 p.m.) and the best/worst reality show on TV. Sit back in the courtyard with the TV on and enjoy 1/2 bottles of wine? Now that’s what we call fun!
These are of course, just a few of the fun things happening in New Orleans. Give them a try and let us know what you think. If you know of a fun happy hour or tasting, let us know so we can check it out and share it with cocktail lovers everywhere.
