NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Can you teach an old drink new tricks? If you’re asking this question while bellied up to the Sazerac Bar in the Roosevelt Hotel, the answer is a very tasty—and perhaps a tad tipsy—‘yes!’ Each of the carefully crafted cocktails on the Sazerac’s new summer menu puts a modern twist on a familiar favorite. A spinoff, a remix, a redux? It really doesn’t matter what you call it. What matters is that you enjoy it.
- An early favorite of the season is the Typhoon, a lighter, drier, Eastern-inspired spin on the New Orleans classic Hurricane. It combines Roku gin with passionfruit, lime and hibiscus-miso syrup.
- You can forget your plain Paper Plane cocktail. Peychaud’s Private Plane is the best kind of upgrade. Using strawberry infused aperitivo in place of aperol, it’s light and refreshing while still spirit forward — a spin that means you’ll never settle for a normal Paper Plane again.
- And we dare you to ignore the Southern Gentleman! Created exclusively for the Roosevelt New Orleans by award winning Bartender Julie Reiner, The Southern Gentleman is a proper pour of Buffalo Trace Bourbon with blackberry, mint and lemon.
Enjoy them poolside in a Roosevelt rooftop cabana or sip them in the Art Deco cool of the Sazerac bar. Full Menu below.
