Raise your hand if, no matter how energetic and prepared for the week you are on Monday, by Wednesday you feel sluggish and maybe even slightly bummed out. If you are like me and the five people in my unscientific survey, the mid-week slump is at least a mild struggle in your week-to-week existence. There is however a cure for your Wednesday blues—or any blues for that matter. As we say goodbye to 2014 and hello to 2015, it’s a good time to remember that a little adventure and self-care does the body good. There is no need to wait until the weekend to plan something fun and energizing to look forward to in the middle of the week. Below is a list of activities to help you get started on busting the slump. Whether it’s Wednesday or not, apply as needed:
Go for a run
Have lunch or dinner with a friend
Create and enjoy a new cocktail
Eat a cheese plate (unless you are lactose intolerant, cheese makes everything better)
Do an art project
Treat yourself to a happy little gift
Rise early and make an elegant breakfast
Get a massage (Also see: Pedicure, manicure, polish change)
Do a yoga session
By yourself flowers
Take a mini-spiritual retreat
Complete an organizing project
Enjoy a long walk
Go on a coffee date
