Smart Through Art

Cocktails for KID smART celebrates 10 years.

This year KID smART celebrated it’s 10th Cocktails for KID smART on November 5. Typically, Cocktails for KID
smART is held in a different home of a couple or individual with a notable art collection, but this year the reception returned to Jim Mounger’s home, who hosted the very first Cocktails for KID smART, to celebrate the 10th Anniversary.

Evelyne Clinton and Winnie Brown were co-chairs for this exquisite cocktail celebration, which was very successful in raising funds to help operate the agency’s mission. KID smART works through the arts to engage children in learning about themselves and the world in which they live, focusing on arts integration, teaching the arts and using arts to teach other subjects in under resourced public elementary schools.

The Jeremy Marx Trio provided musical entertainment for the guests; at the patron party, Joel Catering provided champagne, smoked salmon paninis, crostinis topped with mushroom, white truffles and egg salad dusted with Parmesan regianno. At the gala, Joel Catering provided southern style cheese grits topped with grillades, cheddar biscuits, sundried tomato and pesto cheesecake, Louisiana oyster shots and baby greens with pear and pecans. Sucré also provided an assortment of desserts for the occasion.

Cocktails for KID smART had many major sponsors for this event including: Tommy & Dathel Coleman, Advantage Capital, Adams and Reese, Joel Catering, Iberia Bank, Jones Walker, Barrasso Usdin Kupperman Freeman & Sarver.
