“Big Wig Ball” sponsor Stephen Roques posed with Milissa Credeur and sponsor Bryan D. Jourdain at the 2021 “‘Mini’ Big Wig Ball” in July, a scaled down version annual event held in January to kick off the Carnival season. Guests were treated to an Electra Cosmetics buffet beauty bar, entertainment by DJ Ally Bea and the Merry Antoinettes, food, drinks and more.

Guest Curator David W. Robinson-Morris Ph.D. and CAC Board Member Jane Cooper are pictured at the Contemporary Arts Center for the opening of “Behind Every Beautiful Thing.” The exhibition features pieces produced by 36 different Gulf South artists that showcase how “behind every beautiful thing lurks the joy and the wound of the human condition,” Dr. Robinson-Morris said.

Chef Alon Shaya, WGNO “Good Morning New Orleans” anchor Tamica Lee and Urban South Head Brewer Alex Flores judged the gourmet hot dog contest at Dat Dog and Son of a Saint’s seventh annual “National Hot Dog Day Celebration” at the beloved restaurant’s Freret Street location.

Son of a Saint Founder Bivian “Sonny” Lee III and Dat Dog Founder Constantine Georges shared a smile at their seventh annual “National Hot Dog Day Celebration.” This year’s event featured a “Top Chef”-style competition to choose the 2021 “Son of a Saint ‘Dog,” judged by a panel of celebrity judges sampling the creations of three finalists chosen from online recipe submissions.
