NEW ORLEANS (press release) – SoBou is thrilled to announce the arrival of our new Bar Chef, Amanda Thomas! Responsible for overseeing the entirety of SoBou’s beloved bar program, Amanda brings an adoration for creating sustainable cocktails and can’t wait to educate her guests on the magic of working with fresh herbs, fruit, and syrups. We are so excited to have her join the Commander’s Family!
After arriving in New Orleans in 2009, Amanda started at Kingfish, where the “Godfather of the New Orleans cocktail industry,” Chris McMillan, and his wife Laura, became her mentors. Amanda followed the team to Revel before moving on to Apolline. Now in her second stint as Bar Chef, Amanda brings sustainability in cocktails to the forefront of SoBou’s bar menu, utilizing insights from the years of travel and cocktail education under her belt, all while sharing this education with everyone she hosts.
