Socially Distant Date Night: Dinner and a Movie

Though the city and surrounding areas have slowly released the strict guidelines enforced due to the coronavirus pandemic, masks and social distancing haven’t yet disappeared. Luckily, we live in a city where creativity and making lemonade out of lemons is a natural occurrence, many businesses around the city are offering COVID-safe and socially distant events.

One of those events is the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute’s (NOCHI) Dinner and a Movie on the Rooftop. NOCHI previously hosted Dinner and a Movie in December before more strict guidelines were enforced and included food-related movies like “Julia and Julia” and “The Hundred Foot Journey.”

This lineup includes more romantic movies – like “Say Anything” and “Dirty Dancing” – that we think would be perfect for a socially-distant date night. The Dinner and a Movie series ticket includes the movie (obviously), a full dinner and a specialty cocktail from Roulaison or non-alcoholic beverage. There will be additional drinks and sweats sold separately at a cashless bar.

The first dinner and a movie will feature “Rudy” on March 12. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., dinner is served at 8 p.m. and the movie will start shortly thereafter. It is also noted on the NOCHI website that these events are intended for those 18 years of age and older.

For those interested in tickets, the private tables can be reserved from two to six people parties and can be purchased on the NOCHI website.
