DJ Frane – “Christmas at the Iceburg”
The enigmatic DJ Frane has dropped a holiday track for the ages. With his usual playfulness Frane has created a wonderful little Christmas journey. Think of it as one of his records in micro.
Sylvan Esso – “There Are Many Ways to Say I Love You”
While not strictly a holiday song Sylvan Esso have released their beautiful cover of Mr. Roger’s classic song. The sentiment is perfect.
Sia – “Santa’s Coming For Us”
The lead single from Sia’s album of holiday originals. This record is a lot of fun and a welcome shift from a lot of the music we hear this time of year.
Paul McCartney’s Christmas Disc 1965
About 20 minutes of the legendary experimental Christmas tape that Macca made for his fellow Beatles in 1965 has surfaced on Youtube. This is well worth your time and a great listen.
And one true classic:
Tom Waits – “Silent Night + Christmas Card From A Hooker In Minneapolis”
Live from Austin City Limits
This is probably the best Christmas song ever. Here we have Waits pouring his heart and humor into this story and everything lines up perfectly.
