Son of a Saint Joins AOS Interiors and Knoll Furniture as Partner and Beneficiary for “Design at HeART” Event

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Son of a Saint, the nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring mentorship and transforming the lives of New Orleans’ fatherless boys, will join AOS Interiors and Knoll Furniture as a chosen partner and beneficiary of the signature Design at HeART event on July 29. This event will feature 14 local artists and designers including Ferrand Design, Aimee Siegel, Cubs the Poet, Francie Abell, Page Goss, Vulk Made, Trapolin Peer Architects, Brent Houzenga, Gretchen Howard, Kate Grace Bauer, Jennie West, Mary Guiteau, and Farouki Farouki, who will come together to commission and design Muuto Fiber Chairs in their distinct artistic styles for a charity silent auction.

All proceeds from Design at HeART will go towards furnishing Son of a Saint’s forthcoming new Mid-City headquarters, “A Home for Our Boys.” The building will provide a safe, nurturing, and resourceful space for generations of young men and serve as a springboard for their futures. When construction is complete, Son of a Saint will be able to build upon its existing programming and multiply its impact in transforming the lives of fatherless boys through mentorship, emotional support, and development of life skills.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with AOS Interiors and Knoll Furniture on this exciting event and are incredibly grateful to them and the participating artists and designers for their support,” says Son of a Saint Founder and CEO Bivian “Sonny” Lee III. “The proceeds from the auction will go a long way in providing a stable, collaborative environment for the boys we serve. As we continue to expand our reach and elevate opportunities, we are emboldened by the creative and enthusiastic support we receive from our partners.”
Design at HeART will take place at 5:30 PM CST on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the new, highly anticipated Hotel St. Vincent on 1507 Magazine Street. Refreshing cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Reservations are required and availability is limited. Those interested can learn more here and RSVP to events@thinkaos.com.
Since its inception in 2011, Son of a Saint has increased its mentee participants from 10 boys to now include 170 young men across Greater New Orleans. That constitutes a more-than-tenfold increase in its first decade. As Son of a Saint continues the crucial work of mentoring and enhancing the lives of fatherless young men in the New Orleans area, the organization is poised to add more programming, more mentors and more boys to its cause, reaching 200 mentee participants by the end of 2021. Son of a Saint holistically supports young men between the ages of 10 and 18, providing them with mentorship, education, mental health services and travel experiences, as well as internship and service-learning opportunities.
