NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Son of a Saint has partnered with the Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo 2024 Festival to put the fun in the philanthropic efforts of fundraising. This year, festivalgoers can use the promo code “saint” when purchasing their Bayou Boogaloo tickets and have 25 percent of sales proceeds directly benefit the mission and mentees of Son of a Saint. The music and arts festival will be held May 17-19 along Bayou St. John in the Mid-City area of New Orleans.
Started in 2006, the Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo is an annual festival that brings focus to the local music genres of New Orleans, such as zydeco, brass bands, jazz, and hip-hop for people of all ages. Typically welcoming an attendance of approximately 35,000, the festival also features an array of food vendors, booths serving alcoholic beverages, and a curated arts market that brings more than 60 local artists and craftspeople of all disciplines.
Son of a Saint holistically supports youth between the ages of 10 and 21, providing mentorship, education, mental health services, travel experiences to expand horizons, as well as internship and career-development learning opportunities. The youth development nonprofit currently serves 350 young people across Greater New Orleans, including its cohort of more than 250 full-time mentees, as well as mentee alumni, and additional tuition scholarship recipients via its Son of a Saint Scholars program. The organization remains steadfast in its mission to inspire and uplift young boys, cultivating a supportive community that empowers them to break barriers and achieve success.
