NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Son of a Saint announced the addition of a new chapter of its Annual Women’s Luncheon with the launch of Power the Potential, a Women’s Investment Circle designed to bring women together around collective giving and direct investment in the young men the organization serves.
The initiative transforms the annual luncheon into a collaborative philanthropic experience, giving supporters an opportunity not only to contribute, but also to help determine where their collective investment will be directed.
Women can join the Power the Potential Investment Circle through a one-time gift of at least $1,000 or a recurring monthly commitment of at least $100. Members will receive an exclusive invitation to Son of a Saint’s Annual Women’s Luncheon on Friday, Sept. 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Son of a Saint Clubhouse, 2803 Saint Philip St. The luncheon is sponsored by Jones Walker LLP.
During the luncheon, Son of a Saint staff members will present three critical areas of need within the organization: transportation, summer camp experiences, and mental health services. Guests will hear how each resource supports mentees throughout their journey and the tangible impact additional investment could make.
Members of the Investment Circle will then vote to determine which of the three initiatives will receive 100% of the funds raised through this year’s Power the Potential campaign.
“Women have always been powerful champions of Son of a Saint, and Power the Potential invites them to become even more deeply connected to our mission, said Chief Development Officer Daphne Stratton. By bringing women together to learn about our mentees’ most pressing needs and decide where their collective investment will go, we are giving them a meaningful voice in creating opportunities for the young men we serve.”
The Annual Women’s Luncheon continues to bring together women from across the New Orleans community in support of Son of a Saint’s mission. Power the Potential builds on that tradition by creating a more participatory model of philanthropy, connecting supporters more closely to the needs, decisions, and impact behind their giving.
Attendees will also enjoy a luncheon presented with the support of culinary partners Link Restaurant Group, Cajun Caviar, and Hampton Water Wines.
