NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Southeast Louisiana Council of the Boy Scouts of America announces its 2nd Annual Spirit of Scouting Soirée. This event honors the role of women and girls in scouting and in the community. Scout Spirit is defined as “Living by the Scout Oath, Law, Slogan, and Motto in your daily life.” As a whole, having Scout Spirit means supporting others, bettering your community, and striving to become your best possible self. It’s the duty of each scout to determine for themselves how best to live with Scout Spirit.
The 2023 class of Spirit of Scouting Honorees. This is an outstanding group of women who give so much to scouting and to our community:
Karen Coaxum – New Orleanian & businesswoman, currently director of marketing for Coaxum Enterprises
Jackie Clarkson – Former Louisiana State Representative and former New Orleans Council President
Bronwyn Corcoran – Former Scoutmaster and St. Pius X Educator
The Spirit of Scouting Soirée is a different engagement experience for the supporters of the Southeast Louisiana Council. Chaired by an all-ladies committee in scouting, this event promises to be lively, unique, and is sure to become an annual tradition the community looks forward to each year. We hope that you will join us as a community sponsor investor. Muffin Adriance & Shannon Markward, Event Co-chairs; Adrienne Roth, Auction Chair.
The council is pleased to partner with the Deutsches Haus for this year’s event. In addition to celebrating and fostering the culture of Germanic people, Deutsches Haus supports over 20 non-profit community organizations by providing a place to meet and support, including financial, for their fund-raising activities.
