Southern Food and Beverage Museum is SoFAB

Liz Williams is president of the Southern Food and Beverage Museum (SoFAB). According to Williams, the museum "celebrates food and explores food culture and drink, and drink culture." The SoFAB is unique because it is the only one of its kind in the country.

In addition to housing diverse exhibits about the food and beverages that are integral parts of Southern culinary culture and traditions, the museum extends its focus beyond the museum walls. For example, Nitty Grits, an online international culinary dictionary, is one of SoFAB's many projects. Williams has also written a new book, New Orleans: A Food Biography, that offers a local food lover's perspective on food culture in New Orleans. In this podcast, Williams shares her thoughts on her new book and talks about the food we all love in a city internationally famous for its food. Listen to the podcast here.
