While holiday decorations can be found on store shelves as early as October, the mood is best set with a memorable kick-off event that delights the senses with spellbinding, sparkling lights and wine that sparkles, too. On November 20, 2021, from 4 – 6 p.m., Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and Sandestin Wine Festival bring eager partygoers exactly that with the 9th Annual Sparkling Wine and Holiday Lights event.
Taking place on the enchanting and decked-out streets of The Village of Baytowne Wharf, Sparkling Wine and Holiday Lights will feature more than 30 champagnes, as well as a plethora of sumptuous appetizers from the area’s Village restaurants. New champagnes and sparkling wines are introduced every year, including Champagne, French and domestic sparkling wines, Prosecco, Cava, and sparkling rosé.
“This event truly gets you in the holiday spirit, and year after year families and friends gather to explore the beautifully lit Village streets and sample delicious appetizers with an incredible variety of champagnes,” says Leighann Elliott, Event & Marketing manager of The Village of Baytowne Wharf. “Each guest receives a commemorative Sparkling Wine champagne glass, and we love watching everyone toast under the grand Christmas tree with a flute of bubbly.”
In addition to the many champagnes and food samplings, guests to Sparkling Wines and Holiday lights also revel in the live music of authentic Christmas carolers from the Emerald Coast Theater Company and the sights of magnificent winter decorations. The event will end with the first tree lighting of the season and Baytowne Wharf’s exciting choreographed light show, 12 Nights of Lights.
“The evening feels like a night straight out of a Hallmark holiday movie,” says Elliott. Benefitting the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, the event sells out in advance year after year.
“We tend to think of our sparkling wine event as the grown-up, sneak peek of our holiday festivities inside The Village,” she says. “This year, we want everyone to take a moment to remember the simple joys in life and fall in love again with the holidays and the happiness they bring.”
Already a hit with locals, Sparkling Wine and Holiday Lights enchants visitors, too, giving them a taste of the host organization’s namesake event, which happens every spring. In 2022, the Sandestin Wine Festival will lure folks from all over with its numerous wine-focused tastings and events, April 7-10.
Revelers are encouraged to purchase a ticket and book accommodations at nearby Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort to stay just a few steps or a short tram ride away from the bubbly bacchanalian fun.
