Frank Davis died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013. My podcasts usually come out on Mondays mornings, but I wanted to re-run my interview with him today as a tribute to this one-of-a-kind New Orleanian who was a friend to all. Few individuals during our lives have the enthusiasm and joy for life that Frank radiated. I met Frank only once when he did this interview in June 2006, but I knew Frank from his work on WWL-TV. Whether Frank was cooking, fishing, or just being "Naturally N'Awlins," his expansiveness and love for life were apparent. What I did not understand until I met him in person was how Frank's combination of joy and happiness were contagious. I actually remember feeling uplifted and happier as I walked out from our interview. New Orleans was a richer place when Frank was in it. He will be sorely missed, but we can celebrate Frank and the indelible stamp he left on the city he loved so much by just being ourselves, as he always and reliably was, simply being "Naturally N'Awlins." In this podcast, less than a year after Hurricane Katrina, Frank shares his philosophy about life and the people of New Orleans.
