The 2011 Sunday at Emeril’s XVI kicked off on March 20 with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a four-course meal paired with unique wines. One of the live auction’s highlights was a priceless dinner from Emeril’s staff, along with a performance by Grammy winner – and event co-chair – Irvin Mayfield. He, along with co-chair Elizabeth Boh, recognized honorary chair Susan Lane Gundlach for her hard work in mental health services in New Orleans, especially for children.
Chef Emeril Lagasse once again sponsored, underwrote and hosted the 16th annual event, which benefited the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Department of Psychiatry Advisory Board and the LSUHSC Foundation. The dinner supported LSUHSC’s continuing efforts to meet the critical needs of at-risk children and families in the region.
The LSUHSC Department of Psychiatry’s faculty consists of experts in trauma-focused needs, providing more than 25,000 evaluations, as well as resilience-building and therapeutic services. It offers treatment in New Orleans, St. Bernard and Plaquemines parish schools; in military and childcare facilities; and in regional Head Start and Early Head Start Centers.
