This year, Agave week took place at the Ace Hotel. And you can visit nolaagaveweek.com for more details and to see what events take place today.

If you're looking for something sweet to get into, we have a couple of tasty happy hours sure to get your weekend started.

Willa Jean (611 O’Keefe Ave.) has a chic happy hour that will keep you coming back for more. On top of the amazing pastries and sweets, the cocktails are great too. First of all, happy hour is everyday from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. During this time, you can get select beer, wine by the glass and frozen rose for about $6. There is also often a frosty selection of the day, which usually includes a fruit and tasty spirit. This is a great way to spend a few hours downtown while sipping on summer favorites.

Bakery Bar (1179 Annunciation St.) This lower Garden District happy hour runs 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. It’s so fun because you’ll get to choose from a selection of daiquiris for $3 or a range of classic cocktails including Sazerac, Moscow Mule, sparkling wines and red blends for $5. Each is designed to go with a sweet treat. At this pastry shop with a twist, it’s great to nibble on a slice of doberge cake, cupcake or petit four while enjoying your favorite New Orleans classic cocktail.

The Lobby Bar (Ace Hotel, 600 Carondelet St.) has happy hour from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. daily. Here you’ll get light snack specials and drinks like the Old Fashioned and a Champagne Cocktail for $6. The Paloma will be a thirst quencher for $5. House red and white wine, rose and sparking runs $5 a glass and $25 a bottle. And the ever so popular Miller Lite will wet your whistle for 5-bucks. It’s a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy New Orleans while having a great drink.

These are of course just a few fabulous happy hour’s around town. If you have a place you want us to check out, let us know so we can share it with cocktail lovers everywhere.
