Spooktacular Spirits

With Halloween in a few short weeks, we are gearing up to get our spooktacular cocktail list together. To make sure you are a (g)host with the most, mixologist Lynnette Marrero has this one for you to try. It uses Zacapa Rum and it is the perfect delicious dessert drink ready to “wow” your Halloween party guests this year. Also consider, this could be a good cocktail to take along with you if you are attending the Krewe of Boo parade.

Additionally, a few local hot spots are hosting Halloween events and specials you don’t want to miss.

If you are headed out to the French Quarter, Tujague’s (429 Decatur St.) has a fun celebration. Poppy Tooker’s Drag Queen Brunch is back on Halloween day from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Join Poppy and her fabulous entertainers for a special show, filled with singing and dancing, while you enjoy a three-course brunch and bottomless mimosas. You won’t want to miss out on all the fun! Don’t forget to look the part because Bacardi is giving out prizes for the best costumes. Spaces are limited so make sure to make a reservation.

Galatoire’s Restaurant is always the place to be the Friday before Halloween.  The menu will be the same as years past, and you will want to make a reservation to enjoy the fun and festivities.  Grab your friends, and your most unique costume and enjoy all this iconic restaurant has to offer.

Latitude 29 loves New Orleans’ second favorite dress-up season. They are celebrating with another Spooktacular Halloween PopUp beginning Friday, Oct. 22, and running through Halloween night. The bart will feature a special menu of eight cocktails based on their 2021 theme, Terror From the Deep. The team is pulling out the twinkly orange lights and all the trinkets you can imagine. It’s encouraged that you make a reservation to make sure you are able to take pleasure in all the revelry.

Who couldn’t use a little more delight these days, right? There are so many events happening the week of Halloween and we are just giving you a few ideas. If you know of something great with wonderful cocktails, let us know so we can share it with cocktail lovers everywhere.
