If while on a walk or driving through a New Orleans neighborhood you ever spied a charming historic home and wondered about the interior, the Preservation Resource Center’s Spring Home Tour, presented by Entablature Design + Build and Entablature Realty, is for you. On April 22 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. visit eight private residences in the Parkview and Bayou St. John neighborhoods during the annual walking tour. The selected homes showcase New Orleans vernacular architecture and feature a variety of interior design styles from traditional to modern.

There are a couple additional bonuses this year, including a Sunday tour of the historic Pitot House at 1440 Moss St. Home tour ticket holders can tour the historic the house for separate $5 ticket available only at the tour headquarters at Cabrini High School. Those who’d like to skip the lines and have a guide can purchase the Enhanced Spring Home Tour Architectural Experience with NOLA Tours. These two-hour, expert-curated tours are limited to only 15 spots per tour time.

Get tickets in advance for $25 for PRC members and $30 for non-members. Day of tickets are available for $35 for members and non-members.

P.S. The Longue Vue House & Gardens 2023 Design Symposium kicked off on April 20 and runs through April 22. Today, attendees can take in designer presentations and a garden picnic. On Saturday, rountables, inlcuding “Nature-led Design” with Mary Palmer Dargan, and workshops including “Fashion Fascinators” with DeAndre Beverly Symposium and “Plein Air Painting” with Peg Usner are on the schedule.
