This majority of the events this weekend fall on Saturday, including a celebration of one of Louisiana’s most famous foods, an outdoor Easter egg hunt in an iconic location, a concert for a cause, and one local band’s new album release, which spans two locations. One event Sunday takes advantage of the balmy weather at Lake Martin with an all-star lineup of chefs and musicians, easing you into the end of the week with a scenic experience.


4/6: Acadiana Po-Boy Festival: One of the most successful new festivals in recent years will make its return this Saturday at Parc Sans Souci! Try po-boys from Spoonbill, French Press, Social Southern and many more Acadiana restaurants in a family friendly setting from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. This free-entry fest will include $3 samples so you can try from as many vendors as possible. 4/6: Avery Island Easter Event: This Saturday afternoon, Jungle Gardens at Avery Island will provide the perfect setting for Easter Egg hunting! Egg hunts will be grouped by ages, and each hunt will begin at 1 p.m. Ticket includes entrance into Jungle Gardens, an egg hunt, a meet and greet with the Easter Bunny and lots of games! 4/6: Rayo Brothers album listening party and performance: Saturday is a big day for local folk/bluegrass/country act Rayo Brothers. Starting at 5 p.m., Lagniappe Records will host a listening party for the act’s new record, “Victim & Villain,” which is the band’s third album. The listening party precedes the act’s performance just one block around the corner at Cite’ des Arts at 7 p.m. The show will feature special guests Chris Stafford of Feufollet and multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Nikia Yung. 4/6: Songwriters: Side by Side: Local songwriters Kelli Jones and Rex Moroux will perform their original works at the Acadiana Center for the Arts Saturday from 6-9 p.m. for the third annual Songwriters: Side by Side. The goal of the event is to raise funds supporting the ACA’s performance series, which has included artists like Gillian Welch, Grizzly Bear Mavis Staples and more big touring acts in recent years. 4/7: Spring Secret Supper Series: Maison Madeleine at Lake Martin will serve as the setting for a variety of celebrated chefs and musicians Sunday evening. Chefs Monica Cobb of Monica’s Restaurant in Beaumont, Texas, and Jolie Meaux of Acadiana’s Porch, Wine and Gravy will provide secret menu items. Grammy-winning accordionist and singer Steve Riley will play with fiddler and Grammy nominee Kevin Wimmer along with guitarist and vocalist Lane Mack. Tickets are $188 per person and are available on
