NEW ORLEANS (press release) – STEM NOLA in partnership with the Department of Defense, Entergy, NORDC and the City of New Orleans will host an in-person DoD STEM Saturday event to expose, inspire and engage STEM NOLA youth and military-connected families in STEM learning. The non-profit will host the FREE event at the Gernon Brown Recreation Center for nearly 200 scholars in grades K-12 to participate in activities explaining how the lungs and respiratory system work to help human’s breath. Registered participants will have the opportunity to design, build and test their own mechanical lung so they can learn to identify and explain the parts of the lungs.
