If we’ve learned anything while living through a global pandemic, it’s how important it is to lend a helping hand during a trying time and how we all need a really great vacation – or, when you live in a city like New Orleans — staycation.
This summer, the Loews New Orleans Hotel is offering a special incentive to stay at the hotel and help the Loews give back to neighborhood schools. In a press release published earlier this month, Loews announced its initiative to help local teachers and students before they head back to the classroom this fall. The goal is to entice locals to spend time in the city, celebrate New Orleans and help the hotel donate to DonorsChoose – an online nonprofit that assists teachers and students in need by allowing the public to donate directly to local schools – to help fund school projects, provide art supplies and other necessities for the 2021-2022 school year.
For bookings two nights or longer between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the Loews will donate to DonorsChoose to help New Orleans schools. Additionally, the hotel is offering a “Third Night’s a Charm” summer special. Guests of the Loews can save 20 percent off when they book a stay for three or more nights.
We at “Let Them Eat Cake” can find a way to make a romantic couple’s weekend out of just about any event or special incentive. The Loews – located steps from the French Quarter and the Arts District – is in an ideal location for some of New Orleans’ best restaurants and activities. This can also be an opportunity to scout out locations for your wedding-related gatherings, as well as hotels for the wedding party and out-of-town guests.
Some of us have spent a lot of time with our loved ones over the past year, so a change in location might add just the bit of rejuvenation in wedding planning that you need before the Big Day.
