Sunday was the official start to the summer season. Whether you are planning a summer wedding or the related wedding festivities, it’s important to keep in mind some of the best summer color combinations — and maybe some combinations you never considered.
With the help of Pantone, the world-renowned authority on all things color related, we put together some of our favorite pairings, classic summer shades and other hues great for any wedding celebration.
Each season, Pantone releases its favorite colors. For the Spring/Summer 2015 shades, Pantone included some beautiful blues, pretty lavender and a few predictable bright summer shades typical of the season. Pantone is always a great place to gain inspiration when attempting to find the best colors for fashion, decorations and more.

Summer doesn’t always mean bright and blinding colors. It is certainly the most appropriate time for your favorite hot pinks or lime greens, but it can also be a great time to incorporate pastels and muted brights.
Glacier Gray, Aquamarine and Marsala, the 2015 color of the year, make a pretty pairing for an outdoor garden party or afternoon tea celebration.
Glacier Gray pairs nicely with most hues as a base and opportunity to add in that pop of summer color.
Strawberry Ice, Tangerine and Custard all work well with Glacier Gray.
Aquamarine, or a powder blue, can also act as a base color. We love Aquamarine with a pop of red.
When it comes to summer parties, it is important to remember not to go overboard with the more overstated colors — fans of Lily Pulitzer are of course exempt from this rule. Keep it simple with the base and add in your pop of color here and there with flowers or napkins.
