Super Bowl Host Committee Launches STEM Series

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The New Orleans Super Bowl LIX Host Committee, led by the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and the New Orleans Saints, launched the Bridge 2 Innovation program with a pep rally at Edna Karr High School, bringing together nearly 300 students for an exciting day of STEM exploration. The high-energy event included a panel discussion with leaders from Bridge 2 innovation partners, including Chevron, Dow Chemical Co., Entergy, Ochsner Health, and Venture Global, as well as interactive STEM demonstrations with the support from STEM NOLA. Students had the opportunity to engage in STEM activations, learn about potential careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math, and take-home exclusive Bridge 2 Innovation school supplies.

“Bridge 2 Innovation, as part of our Super Bowl LIX legacy, offers a powerful opportunity to create lasting impact on our local students,” said Jay Cicero, president & CEO of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation/Super Bowl LIX Host Committee in a press release about the program. “This initiative is about connecting young people with the possibilities of STEM, opening doors to new ideas, opportunities and pathways for success, helping shape the leaders of tomorrow. Thank you to our Host Committee partners for making this vision a reality.”

As part of this continuing effort, the Host Committee and partners are rolling out four future Bridge 2 Innovation events, each focused on inspiring and engaging K-12 students throughout the region, including:

“Bridge 2 Innovation is designed to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of innovators by providing hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering and math,” said Marcus Brown, Entergy executive vice president and general counsel and chair of the Super Bowl LIX Host Committee. “By engaging students with real-world applications, the program aims to foster an interest in STEM careers and create pathways to future opportunities in some of today’s most vital industries. The events are spread across the region, providing access to communities far and wide.”

Bridge 2 Innovation is one of the many community programs managed and supported by the New Orleans Super Bowl LIX Host Committee, including Super Bowl LIX Source, Impact 59 Powered by Entergy, NFL Green sustainability and environmental projects, and the Super Bowl LIX Host Committee Ambassador Program presented by Chevron. New Orleans Saints players Cam Jordan, Demario Davis, and Tyrann Mathieu along with FOX Sports Analyst and Sideline Reporter Jen Hale are collectively using their impact and influence to champion community programs with the Super Bowl LIX Host Committee.
