Super Bowl XLVII Host Committee Holds its ‘Annual Kickoff Luncheon’

Halloween in the Superdome was filled with treats for the 1,040 guests who gathered for the Super Bowl XLVII Host Committee’s “Annual Kickoff Luncheon.” The theme, “A Toast to Tom Benson,” honored Benson for his ownership of the Saints and Hornets in addition to his community involvement.

As the rallying cry for January’s Super Bowl extravaganza, the luncheon offered a sneak peek for special events to come, including Taste of the NFL, NFL Gospel Brunch, NFL Experience, Super Bowl Media Day, Super Bowl Media Center Fan Gallery and the Super Bowl Media Party.

Guests who purchased table packages received passes to some of these exclusive events, as well as Corporate Membership to the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation. Premiere Table attendees were also able to mingle with the guest of honor and his wife before the luncheon.

Retired New Orleans Saints quarterback and WWL-AM “Sports Talk” co-host Bobby Hebert played host as guests dined on pecan and fig salad, grilled petit tenderloin with lemon thyme shrimp, and a tiramisu tort for dessert. Centerplate provided catering for the affair.

All proceeds from the luncheon benefit the New Orleans Super Bowl XLVII Host Committee to help offset the expenses of hosting a Super Bowl in New Orleans.
