Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Department of Psychiatry Advisory Board and the LSUHSC Foundation held their 17th annual “Sunday at Emeril’s” on April 15 at Emeril’s Restaurant. The dinner supported the efforts to meet the critical needs of children and families in the Louisiana region.

The event featured hors d’oeuvres and cocktails along with a seated dinner and wine pairing. The LSUHSC Department of Psychiatry helps at-risk children and families by providing many of the mental health services in New Orleans. The faculty, as recognized experts in trauma-focused needs, has provided over 30,000 evaluations, resilience building and therapeutic services. Treatment is provided in New Orleans, St. Bernard and Plaquemines parish schools; communities impacted by the Gulf Oil Spill; military and childcare facilities; and Early Head Start Centers in the region.

The LSUHSC Department of Psychiatry continues to meet their pledge to provide clinical help to the New Orleans Police Department, firefighters and emergency medical technicians. The food, wine and other components of Emeril’s were donated for the dinner, and all proceeds were directed to the LSUHSC Department of Psychiatry.
