Live jazz and free drinks abounded at Feed the Relief’s “A Night of Jazz” event on Friday, April 9.

The event was held at The Chicory in the Warehouse District as the event began at 7 p.m. Guests enjoyed pieces by three-time Grammy award winner Branford Marsalis, in addition to an open bar, hors d’oeuvres and buffet stations throughout the night.

Partygoers also had the chance to bid on live and silent auctions. Hotel stays, restaurant gift certificates, sports memorabilia and other items were up for bidding in the silent auction, and the live auction featured a pair of 18 K gold hoop earrings from Friend & Company and a diamond Breitling women’s watch, among other items.

Created by PGA Tour player Kelly Gibson and his wife Elizabeth, Feed the Relief Inc., is a nonprofit organization that provided support to first responders that served after Hurricane Katrina, supports initiatives benefiting military personnel returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan and also supports children’s programs with an emphasis on enrichment through athletics.
