Staycation, bachelor(ette) parties and more in the Big Easy

The travel industry begins to see numbers climb through airports all over the country, Last week we highlighted the many nonstop and direct flights that come to and from New Orleans. The BACH, an app to help plan the perfect bachelor(ette) trip, noted that many are expected to travel in August for wedding-related trips, with even more traveling in the cooler months of the fall and winter.

If you’re looking to get away before those busy months kick up, the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel and the New Orleans Marriott have a few summer offerings that can add lagniappe to your Crescent City journey.

In a press release, the two hotels announced initiatives geared at guests staying longer and saving more while enjoying their time in New Orleans. Each hotel is pushing four packages offering different items to entice guests to extend their stay.

First, the hotels have the “Extend Your Big Easy Weekend” initiative. When taking advantage of this option, the longer you stay at the hotels the lower your room rate becomes. Arrive on a Thursday or a Friday and stay till Sunday or Monday and save 15 percent (for a three-night stay) or 20 percent (for a four-night stay).

Each of the hotels have package additions that include complimentary overnight parking (a Summer Staycation offer) or airport transportation (a Worry-Free Transportation offer) for guests staying on the property.

The “Experience New Orleans” deal gives guests a $30 Joieful concierge gift card that can be spent on numerous activities, as well as a promotional card to snag a free appetizer at Dickie Brennan & Co restaurants Palace Café, Bourbon House, Tableau or Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse.

And finally, guests traveling to NOLA can participate in the “Spice Up Your Stay with TABASCO Sauce” promotion. This promotion is in collaboration with TABASCO Brand and the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute. The promotion includes guestroom offerings and the chance to win a culinary immersive experience at NOCHI. This offer runs through Sept. 30 and comprises of the following according to a press release about the promotion:

  • A guest room at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel or New Orleans Marriott
  • Late 2 p.m. checkout
  • A TABASCO Brand welcome set with three 5 oz. bottles of TABASCO Brand pepper sauces including TABASCO Red Pepper Sauce, TABASCO Green Jalapeño Sauce and TABASCO Chipotle Pepper Sauce
  • Recipe cards for each sauce so guests can cook up dishes and mix up cocktails featuring

TABASCO Brand pepper sauces at home

  • A $5 per guest night donation to NOCHI
  • One entry per reservation into a random drawing for a grand prize giveaway.
