Tava to Host Tasting Menu with Aatma Chef July 18

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Tava Nola, an award winning Indian street food restaurant in the Warehouse District, New Orleans, is excited to announce a one time only 6-course tasting menu in collaboration with Aatma.

Aatma, by Chef Keith Sarasin, is a one-of-a-kind pop-up tasting experience based in Manchester, New Hampshire, showcasing food from the Indian subcontinent presented with modern techniques and styles. Renowned chef, founder of The Farmers Dinner, restaurateur, and four time author, Keith Sarasin, along with Tarun Bangalore, is presenting a multi-course tasting menu inspired by various states across India using fresh local ingredients from New England farms.

Chef Manish Patel, owner of Tava, is next on the list to be a part of the pop-up experience. Together, Chef Manish and Chef Keith have carefully crafted a 6-course menu, featuring Smoked Kachumber Salad, Lamb Neck, Charred Oyster Mushroom and more.

“Indian food is more than just rice and curry. It’s about activating all of your senses while you rip into a dosa and dunk it into coconut chutney. Steering away from what’s expected allows us to showcase the unsung hero of Indian food – street food,” says Chef Manish.“With that in mind, I have partnered with Chef Keith Sarasin to present a curated series of dishes that unshackles the idea of what Indian food is.”

This dinner is an exclusive experience with limited seating! These two chefs from across the US bring together a unique tasting menu, specifically created for this event.

“I am honored to be cooking alongside Chef Manish at Tava,” says Chef Keith, “The menu was designed to expose customers to the different street foods across India. Most people who are familiar with cuisine from the subcontinent know samosas but we wanted to showcase the roadside dhaba (roadside restaurants) doing incredible dishes everyday.”

Chef Manish Patel has been featured by Condé Nast Magazine (25 Best Restaurants in New Orleans), Eater (New Orleans’ Most Anticipated Restaurant 2022), Food & Wine Magazine and Vice.

A limited number of tickets are now available at tavanola.com and resy.
