Teched Out

We have spoken previously about alternative wedding registries and party ideas for the couple that already has everything. Since many couples are living together — to the tune of 48 percent according to the 2006 to 2010 National Survey of Family Growth by the Centers for Disease Control, compared with 34 percent in 1995 — often they are setting up house before they get married. Today, this is when stock the bar parties and unconventional registries come into play for the couple that already has everything. Recently, Best Buy got into the wedding registry game. For the out of town guests wanting to send a congratulatory gift or couples looking for little extras around the house, this is a great substitute.

This registry is pretty self explanatory, but Best Buy is offering some incentives to draw in couples. Our favorite feature is the option of group gifting. Multiple family and friends can contribute to one gift — for gifts equaling or exceeding $200. This gives guests the opportunity to choose their own gift amount and it will go towards a large present the couple really wants.

The couple also receives a percentage off on registry items not bought before the wedding, as well as free shipping and extended returns and exchanges.
