NEW ORLEANS (press release) —Hogs for the Cause has announced that its 12th annual charity barbecue and music festival will take place March 27 -28, 2020 at the UNO Lakefront Arena Festival Grounds. The 2019 festival emerged as its most successful to date with nearly 30,000 attendees and 90 barbecue teams helping Hogs surpass its fundraising goal. In its 2019 fiscal year, almost $1 Million of grants and charitable contributions were dispersed to support families with children being treated for pediatric brain cancer.
To celebrate the kickoff of its new season, Hogs is releasing a limited amount of specially-priced Early Bird tickets, priced at $30 for 2-Day General Admission and $199 for 2-Day Boss Hog VIP tickets. “To get the excitement rolling for 2020, we are offering early bird tickets and a 20% discount on our merchandise through Sept. 17,” said Rene Louapre, COO & co-founder of Hogs for the Cause. “While we are planning and fundraising all year, we are honored to have our loyal teams and patrons support us by spreading brand awareness and through their steadfast enthusiasm to our cause.”
Each year, Hogs for the Cause provides direct grants to families in need, totaling over 1,000 to date, providing aid and relief of those variable expenses and economic burdens faced while their child is being treated for pediatric brain cancer. In addition, Hogs has made significant donations to hospitals for children in New Orleans, Atlanta, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. The largest commitment has been to Children’s Hospital New Orleans with a $2 million investment for the development of on-campus housing for families. Dubbed the “Hogs House,” it serves as on-campus housing for families from outside the New Orleans region who have a child receiving ongoing healthcare treatment at Children’s Hospital.
“Hogs for the Cause began as a fundraiser for one, but has grown into an nationwide organization that benefits hundreds of families directly and thousands indirectly through our partnerships with hospitals across the southeast,” said Becker Hall, co-founder and chief executive officer for Hogs. “Supported by more than 30,000 attendees annually, we know Hogs for the Cause will continue to grow and more families in need will have the extra assistance when they need it.”
Hogs for the Cause 2020 sponsors, to date, include: Children’s Hospital New Orleans, Bulleit, Don Julio, and Captain Morgan
