The Best Restaurants for a Birthday Dinner in New Orleans

Since New Orleans is one of the best culinary cities in the world (not arguable, fact), trying to find the best dinner plan can actually prove really difficult. With so many options, how does one simply pick one or two places to go?

I am celebrating a, what I would say is, big birthday soon and I prompted the other editors to give me their recommendations for where my friends and I can go out to celebrate while being able to get dressed up, but not necessarily breaking the bank.

I found their suggestions so good that I simply couldn’t gatekeep and needed to share them with anyone who may come across this post.

Whether you’re celebrating or just want to feel fancy in the Crescent City, cheers!

Gianna

Not only is Gianna delicious, but the overall vibe and central location make it a perfect spot for a girlfriend’s night out!

Delacroix Restaurant

I cannot say enough good things about Delacroix. I recently had dinner there and it was amazing! It’s on the river, with amazing views, and right near the Four Seasons and the Chandelier Bar. Best place I’ve eaten in a while!

Sylvain

Sylvain is such a fun option with a nice courtyard right in the French Quarter, great for walking around after.

Cure

Freret is a one-stop-shop for all! Think drinks at Cure, The Husky for dinner and Pigeon & Whale for dessert (or any combo that sounds good).

N7

Both Reine and Andy suggested N7 is the perfect spot for a celebration!

Compere Lapin

Nothing beats a meal with Nina Compton! Then head to one of the many bars, or restaurant bars, in the area.

GW Fins

While I was looking for recommendations for myself, the little angel on my shoulder keeps pointing me to remember a classic: GW Fins! The scalibut is calling my name… and would be followed nicely by a trip to the Sazerac Bar in The Roosevelt!
